My husband Blaine, and I fish out of Stonington, ME. We fish inshore starting in the spring until the end of December. He also goes scalloping but by December this girl has had enough of the COLD!!! I have found being a member of Local 207 has opened many doors for both of us. We have had countless opportunities to learn about an industry we felt pretty comfortable in. As members we own our own Co-op, it has been an adjustment getting used to looking at lobstering a different way. Dead loss and yields were not really part of fishing before now, but the better your company does the more profits we have to share. The larger we grow our Local the more power we will have behind our voice!
